Balcony Power Plant FAQ

FAQ

Do Germany and Austria regulate the size of solar panels?

In Germany there are only regulations regarding the size of solar panels on roofs. A solar panel may not be larger than 2m². There are no size restrictions for other installation locations.

Is the balcony PV system suitable for my family?

As long as your house has optimal sunlight and enough space, you can install the system. Don't forget to check the latest regulations in your country or municipality, or ask your energy provider about the restrictions on balcony photovoltaic systems in your area.

Does the balcony photovoltaic system generate electricity even without direct sunlight or on cloudy and rainy days?

As long as the intensity of sunlight reaches a certain level, the PV system will generate electricity.

Can I install my own solar panels? Do I need to obtain official approval before installing the system?

The PV system can be installed on your balcony, terrace, roof or garden. If you want to install them outside the balcony, you must first obtain permission from your landlord or homeowners association. (Note: As long as the system is installed correctly, it will not cause any damage to the building).

Don’t forget to register the system with your utility company before installing it. The PV system must also be registered with the Federal Network Agency within one month of installation.

Are there funding and subsidies for balcony power plants in my city?

There may currently be regional subsidies and subsidies for balcony power plants, but these benefits may change. Please inquire directly

How does solar energy vary depending on the season?

Electricity production is influenced by the intensity and duration of sunlight and temperature. Solar panels produce the most energy in summer, spring or fall and less in winter. To achieve higher efficiency, we recommend using 2 solar modules to achieve a total output of more than 800W. This allows other factors such as less than ideal sunlight or temperature to be compensated to a certain extent.

Are there official certifications that prove the facility is safe?

The balcony PV system has the following official certifications:

- DE4105&VDE0124
- OVE guideline R 25
-CE LVD COC
- IEC 62109-1
- IEC 62109-2
- CE RED (including LVD, Health, EMC and RF)
-RoHS
-Reach
- POPS
- TÜV (only applies to some models)

And it passed the TÜV wind tunnel test at level 8.
